A distinguishing feature of Highline cars is that they have a coolbox (refridgerator) in the center of the rear seat. This coolbox can fit bottles and cans, as well as snacks or other foods to keep them cold during your trip. BMW even provided a set of two champagne glasses from the factory and the fridge has a custom holder for them; however most of those glasses nowadays have been broken or lost.
Besides the coolbox, Highline cars also have a rear center console with its own heater and air conditioning unit. This is not just an airduct for the existing HVAC system; this is a separate unit with its own A/C evaporator and blower fan, as well as electronically-controlled air distribution with dual-zone rear controls. Needless to say, all E32 Highlines also come with front and rear heated seats.
